Encouraged by my friend and twice-former coworker, Eli White, I submitted several proposals to DPC, the Dutch PHP Conference, this coming June. One of the proposals, was entitled “Digg: The First Two Years,” and I mostly included it because they didn’t ask for a bio and I wanted to make clear my connection with that site. So I was kind of shocked that they not only accepted that particular proposal, but they asked me to do a keynote! I’m honored, and I’ve been furiously working through the program at a local toastmasters chapter, to make sure I can do a good job. I’m quite certain that I’m going to be about as prepared as is possible, and though my particular time slot is early Saturday morning, not the best time given what I’ve seen of the PHP Community’s proclivities, I’m going to try to make it entertaining. I’ll do my best to make all forget their hangovers.
So I encourage any of my readers, and especially friends in Europe, to come see me and the rest of the community. Eli himself has a couple of talks, there’s plenty of other interesting speakers, and the talks address a wide variety of topics, of use to managers, advanced PHP developers, and beginners.
Hurry though, as early bird registration, offering significant savings, is only available until April 30.
