Sad to See It Go

That would be valleywag. While Nick Douglas mostly seemed to be digg‘s pet journalist, printing favorable stories in return for a sniff of a high paying job, the people who came later on seemed to (at least on their best days, and with the key word “tabloid” inserted) resemble journalists. Which elevates them slightly above the professional PR outfits disguised as journalists that currently dominate the blogosphere (Hi, Mike!). I’ve had some good interactions with Owen Thomas and Alaska Miller, and their muckraking ability is going to be missed.
