I totally agree with your analysis and was also concerned by the same flaws in the analysis on RWW. 

FWIW, I did a similar analysis over a 3 month period and summarized it on SEOMoz back in January:

I continue to see similar studies to the one posted on RWW that don&#039;t consider the volume of stories being submitted.</description>
